Exam Handouts for CFP^CM Certification Examinations (Amended)

Established on 1^st December 1998, the Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS) is a non-profit professional association dedicated to developing and promoting an industry providing unbiased financial advice to the Singaporean public. Since its inception, FPAS has received overwhelming support from many of the largest financial institutions in Singapore.

FPAS Online is the organisation's newly revamped official website and serves to provide vital information to its members as well as the general public.

Public can visit our Consumers Section where you will find useful consumer information on financial planning and also search for a qualified financial planner certified by the FPAS.

Members can now log in to access up-to-date information from FPAS, register for upcoming activities and do real-time updating of their personal information.

Updated Module 3 Syllabus and Weightings

Please be informed that from 1st September 2008, the following sub-topics WILL BE removed from Module 3 syllabus: -

Estate duty clearance.

Exemptions and Exclusions.

Assets liable to Estate Duty.

Estate Duty Exemptions.

Rates of Estate Duty.

Interest on Estate Duty.

Payment of recovery of Estate Duty.

Use of Section 73 policy to minimise Estate Duty.

Estate Planning Tools pertaining to the objective of minimizing Estate Duty will be excluded. (However, tools pertaining to structuring of the distribution to the beneficiaries will continue to be examinable).
